Description |
|
Full-time position responsible for providing preventative and primary medical care consistent with community health center setting. Staff Physician must be able to treat patients from a diversity of social and ethnic backgrounds and to work creatively as a member of a health oriented team composed of health professions from a variety of disciplines for the healing and betterment of the center's patients. Graduation from an accredited Medical school, completion of approved post-graduate training and an unrestricted Texas medical license required. Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred. Community Health Center of Lubbock was founded in 1992 and began serving the people of Lubbock county in 1993. This service area has been designated as a Medically Underserved Area and a Health Professional Shortage Area. The center maintains three service sites and provides services such as health education, nutrition counseling, social services, family planning, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, transportation assistance, laboratory, pharmacy, substance abuse counseling, and mental health counseling.
