The Department of Surgery at Carilion Clinic is currently recruiting a vascular/endovascular residency or vascular fellowship trained, Board Certified/Board Eligible Vascular Surgeon to become a valued member of the rapidly expanding Carilion Clinic Aortic Center.  The ideal candidate would possess complex endovascular and open skills including TCAR and FEVAR and will have a collaborative approach to patient care.  The clinical practice is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Carilion Clinic’s 703 bed flagship facility with a dedicated Cardiovascular Institute and will include opportunities to participate in all aspects of direct patient care including reading noninvasive vascular labs, outpatient visits and procedures and inpatient consultations.  This facility currently includes a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room, three vascular OR’s, and an angiography suite with immediate plans to open a second hybrid operating room in the next year.   The Board has recently released plans for the new Cardiovascular Institute Tower with a completion date planned for 2023 which will include multiple hybrid operating rooms, negative air flow angiography and catheterization suites, and modern progressive care, intermediate care and intensive care units.   This position includes a faculty appointment with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and provides candidates with limitless research opportunities through the partnership with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC.
