Description |
In Del Rio, Texas: The Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a Full Time Licensed Professional Counselor to guide clients through the therapeutic relationship, using a combination of mental health and human developmental principles. Including the use of psychotherapy to achieve the mental, emotional, physical, social, moral, educational and spiritual development of the client throughout the client’s life.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, TJC standards, HRSA and Compliance Performance Standards.
- Apply human development and counseling skills to understand clients, promote enhanced client self-understanding and help client interpret client concerns, opportunities and problems.
- Provides direct support to clinic medical staff and provides brief intervention and psychotherapy as needed.
- Plan, develop and implement a treatment plan.
- Assist clients to identify course of action, including near-term and long-term plans and objectives.
- Help clients implement plans and assess outcomes.
- Writes and maintains progress notes for therapy sessions; maintain and update client records and makes appropriate referrals.
- Conduct assessments and determines results. Advocate a team approach service delivery using Center’s providers.
- Monitors patient closely for changes in severity of symptoms and medication side effects; educates patients about medications and medication side effects as needed; encourages treatment adherence.
- Coordinates ongoing assessment in order to monitor client change.

Qualifications;
- Master's Degree in counseling from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed Professional Counselor to practice in the State of Texas.
- Will consider new graduates
- Experience treating clients of all age groups, children through adults

This facility is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center providing primary health care services to both insured and uninsured patients in a bilingual, bicultural community since 1973. Our tri-county service area encompasses Maverick, Val Verde, and Kinney counties, is located in Southwest Texas on the U.S. Mexico Border, and serves the cities of Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Brackettville, Texas. The center maintains eight medical clinic sites and offers Pediatric, OB/GYN, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Dental Services.
