 Job Description

In El Paso, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a Full-Time Bilingual (Spanish and English) Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to deliver excellent care and professional experience to the patients of our center appropriate for an out-patient, primary care community health center with multicultural, multilingual patient population

Job Overview:

  • Oversee the treatment plans and progress of patients, serve as consultant on specific cases and examine and treat patients whose condition may also require pharmacological intervention
  • Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders
  • Reviews case histories and verifies diagnosis of psychiatric disorders
  • Prescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures
  • Recommends disposition of psychiatric cases
  • Maintains accurate, timely and thorough documentation of treatment in patient charts
  • Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders
  • Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to primary care providers and clinical social workers
  • Advises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment
  • Coordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities
  • Instructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures
  • Serves as consultant on psychiatry
 Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas 
  • Current DEA certificate required
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified required 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 1 year post graduate training preferred 
  • Medical degree from an accredited school required

Bilingual in Spanish and English required
