Maine Coast – Emergency Medicine

The Opportunity: Located in Belfast, Maine, Waldo County General Hospital has an opportunity for an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team. Full-time employment based on 32 hours per week with additional shifts available with stipend.  Applicant must be BC/BE in Emergency Medicine or BC in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or General Surgery with a minimum of two years Emergency Medicine experience.  Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, life, disability and malpractice insurance, paid time off, relocation assistance, and CME allowance.

The Practice:  The Emergency Department at Waldo County General Hospital sees a well-rounded case mix with approximately 16,000 visits annually and is staffed 24/7 by a physician with double coverage by an Advanced Practitioner for 10 hours per day.  We utilize Epic EMR, which is fully integrated with all hospital departments, physician practices, and other hospitals within the MaineHealth family.  Access to LifeFlight of Maine for emergent transport directly on site.

The Hospital:  For 110 years, Waldo County General Hospital has been caring for the people along the Maine Coast.  WCGH is a 25 bed Critical Access hospital with a talented medical staff offering a diverse array of specialty coverage including Emergency Medicine, Cardiovascular, Surgical (General, ENT, Urology, Podiatry), Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Oncology, Outpatient Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn and Hospitalist services.  Recently WCGH was named 2015 “iVantage Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals” in the United States; a distinction they have earned four times.
