Maine Medical Partner’s Pediatric Surgery is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Pediatric Surgeon to join their group of 4 surgeons based in Portland, Maine.

The Department of Pediatric Surgery at Maine Medical Center provides outstanding care to children with general, thoracic, abdominal and neonatal conditions in Maine, southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire.  Maine Medical Partners Pediatric Surgeons are on the medical staff of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH), the only Children’s Hospital in Maine.  The BBCH is a 95 bed tertiary care pediatric hospital within Maine Medical Center, providing comprehensive services including a PICU, NICU, dedicated pediatric section in the ED, and a 35 bed Inpatient Unit.  U.S. News & World Report has named The BBCH at Maine Medical Center among the 2015-16 best children’s hospitals in the country for Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes for the second year in a row. 

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School.  The position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program, and the successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. 

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group, serving the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of more than 400 physicians and 150 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.
