Carilion Clinic is searching for a fellowship-trained, board certified or board eligible Interventional Cardiologist at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH), our Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center located in Roanoke, Virginia serving nearly one million in western Virginia. Responsibilities include performing state-of-the-art practice of interventional cardiology following guidelines and appropriate use criteria. Advanced imaging modalities such as IVUS and OCT are available as is peripheral LVAD support for high risk patients. The interventional cardiologist would collaborate with a team of 6 other interventional cardiolgists and 5 Cardiothoracic surgeons. Peripheral vascular experience would be viewed positively. This position does not include structural work. The interventional cardiologists take call as part of a comprehensive acute coronary syndrome program, in proportion to the number of interventional cardiologists on staff.  Academic appointment available through Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine with the expectation that the IC faculty would participate in education in our interventional cardiology fellowship program.  There would be an opportunity for participating in an off-site PCI program at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, a 146 bed facility, located 45 minutes from Roanoke.  Overall, an excellent opportunity for continued development of a strong clinical practice, medical  education, and research. Qualifications include Board Certification in Cardiology and Fellowship Training in Interventional Cardiology. Must possess unencumbered medical license. Newly trained fellows are encouraged to apply, but experience is preferred.
