Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is seeking a Board and CAQ Certified/Eligible Sports Medicine physician for their Sports Medicine Program.   Candidates will be trained in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine or Physiatry, and must be Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine.  Training/skills in sports ultrasonography and osteopathic manipulative medicine are desirable.

Maine Medical Partners – Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a multi-disciplinary team of primary care sports medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapist, athletic trainers and administrative staff committed to providing high quality medical and surgical care to patients of all ages.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School.  The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

The position involves the teaching and mentoring of Sports Fellows from The Maine Medical Center Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, an ACGME accredited primary care sports medicine fellowship, in addition to Residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program.  Candidates will also work with other primary care trained sports medicine physicians and have the opportunity to participate in covering local sporting events and work with area sports teams.

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group.  MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of more than 370 physicians and 150 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.
