La Grange, TX, the county seat of Fayette County, is a historic community located on the Colorado River 55 miles East of Austin and 90 miles West of Houston. This family-oriented community provides a vast selection of family and individual events and activities. Those activities include: the arts, music, festivals, outdoor and sporting entertainment opportunities. The La Grange school district is highly rated and opportunities exist within a short daily driving distance to attend respected colleges and universities.



Our town features a rich history, numerous festivals, museums, concerts, antiques, air shows, and an annual county fair. Fayette County has many music venues including the Bugle Boy, Festival Hill and the Fayetteville Chamber Music Festival, which brings world class musicians to our region throughout the year. The University of Texas operates Shakespeare at Winedale with summer performances. The area also boasts Fayette Lake, which provides excellent fishing and wildlife, canoeing down the Colorado River, golf courses, disc golf courses, hunting and bike riding. La Grange is the overnight stopping point for the annual MS 150 charity bike ride from Houston to Austin. Fayette County is also host to the biannual Round Top-Warrenton Antique shows. There are annual Christmas Light Trails both at Monument Hill State Park and Ledbetter. Round Top boasts the oldest fourth of July Parade west of the Mississippi. 



Austin, Houston, and San Antonio are all within 1-2 hours' easy drive, and the beautiful beaches of the Gulf Coast are just 3 hours away.
