 Job Description

In San Marcos, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to provide quality, comprehensive in-patient and out-patient (as per individual employment agreements) primary health care services to the Center’s patients.  Reports directly to the Director of Family Medicine FNP regarding clinical issues and activities related to the delivery of medical care.

Overview:

  • Assures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the Center’s scope of practice and the provider’s training
     
  • Refers clients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s management and care
     
  • Trains, mentors and supervises students and clinical support staff, as appropriate
     
  • Takes call after hours and on weekends on a rotation basis with other providers and responds appropriately and on a timely manner to after hour calls
     
  • Reviews patient satisfaction survey and checks for trends of any unfavorable quality practice or issues and make appropriate corrective action.  Assures that patient satisfaction surveys are at 94% or above

 Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Board certified or Board eligible in Family Medicine
  • MD degree from an accredited school of medicine required
  • Current or pending unrestricted license from the Texas Medical Board to practice as a physician in the State of Texas required
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Instructor-Led by American Heart Association required

Practice Description :

This 40,000 square foot building is the organization's original location and provides all services in our scope. The organization has been providing services at this site since 1972 and has undergone several upgrades to add clinical space. The most recent renovation took place in 2016 creating a centralized patient check -in for easy accessibility, and a remodel of the right wing of the center where our pediatric and women’s health clinics are located.
